I almost commented during the congregation study regarding the Generation teaching but at the same time I'm not trying to get pulled into the back room š

When was the book of Lamentations written?
by Jules Saturn inso i was researching about 587 and 607 and couldn't help but notice that the wbts states that the writing of the book of lamentations was written by jeremiah near jerusalem and was completed in 607 bc.
chapters 2 and 4 of this book describe jehovah's anger towards jerusalem and the terrible effects of jerusalem's siege taking place in chapter 4. can someone clear this up?
was this book written in 607?

So I saw this article on yahoo news this past Friday
if you watch the video, it's a short 32 second video, the man says how they've found evidence that confirms that Jerusalem was destroyed in 586 BC, and it goes along with what is written in the Bible.
Excerpt from article:
The book of Jeremiah says, "Now on the seventh day of the fifth month, which was the nineteenth year of King Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard, a servant of the king of Babylon, came to Jerusalem.
"He burned the house of the Lord, the kingās house, and all the houses of Jerusalem; even every great house he burned with fire."
I thought this was interesting so I decided to show my father and I told him "Look, this article says that these findings go along with what is written in the Bible and when Jerusalem was destroyed."
"607?" He asks. And I tell him "No, 586 BC, because it says that Jerusalem was destroyed in the nineteenth year in Nebuchadnezzar's rule and that is written in the Bible."
He just stared at me for a moment and as he walked away said "Yeah, that's in the Bible."
I'm surprised he didn't try defending 607 with it but what I regret not bringing up to him is what the Watchtower says about it. As a matter of fact, last week's mid week meeting spoke about 607 and how it's bible prophecy. I really am focusing on debating with him less.
Thoughts?

Spirit directed vs inspired
by Jules Saturn ini've always been confused as to what the discrepancy is between the phrases "spirit directed/spirit led" and "inspired".
in the february 2017 watchtower study article, paragraph 12 says:.
12 the governing body is neither inspired nor infallible.

I always watch the JW broadcast to see if I pick up things myself and then whenever Lloyd comes out with his rebuttal I watch it and see if I didn't catch anything he brings out

I hate that whenever you try to explain this to someone, they look at you as if you have the issue

I've always been confused as to what the discrepancy is between the phrases "spirit directed/spirit led" and "inspired".
In the February 2017 Watchtower Study article, paragraph 12 says:
12 The Governing Body is neither inspired nor infallible. Therefore, it can err in doctrinal matters or in organizational direction. In fact, the Watch Tower Publications Index includes the heading āBeliefs Clarified,ā which lists adjustments in our Scriptural understanding since 1870. Of course, Jesus did not tell us that his faithful slave would produce perfect spiritual food. So how can we answer Jesusā question: āWho really is the faithful and discreet slave?ā (Matt. 24:45) What evidence is there that the Governing Body is filling that role? Let us consider the same three factors that directed the governing body in the first century.
So right off the bat, it states that the Governing Body is neither inspired nor infallible.
Definition of inspire
a : to influence, move, or guide by divine or supernatural inspiration
In the July 2017 JW Broadcasting, Tony Morris III says "We are proud to be a part of this spirit directed organization."
So they aren't inspired by spirit but are directed by spirit?
What does the article say again in paragraph 12?
"The Governing Body is neither inspired nor infallible. Therefore it can err in doctrinal matters and organizational direction."
But how is it possible to err in doctrinal matters and organizational direction if it is a spirit directed organization?
Is there a point I am missing?

What religions/organizations aren't a cult?
by Jules Saturn inso we've already established that most religions can be classified as high control groups, we can name the wbts, church of scientology, lds, etc.
the list goes on and on.
but are there any religions or organizations that aren't classified as a high control group or aren't as bad as the ones i've just mentioned?

@scratchme1010
I came to that conclusion analyzing Steven Hassan's BITE model. Now in my honest opinion, I feel like that BITE model can be applied with most Christian religions, but maybe that's just my personal opinion

So we've already established that most religions can be classified as high control groups, we can name the WBTS, Church of Scientology, LDS, etc. the list goes on and on. But are there any religions or organizations that aren't classified as a high control group or aren't as bad as the ones I've just mentioned? Are ALL organized religions classified as cults? Would a religion have to lack organization to avoid being classified as a cult?
